Recovery resources for living life to the full

Hi, I’m Rob, a grateful recovering alcoholic and addict. I have benefited hugely from a 12 Step recovery programme, and now I’m working to share the experience, strength and hope I’ve gained. That includes producing resources to help others to live a life of contented sobriety.

The Plain Language Big Book is a recently published tool to accompany the ‘Big Book’ of Alcoholics Anonymous. The book introduces the hope and experience of the millions of people who’ve found freedom from alcohol.

This is a UK English reading of the book by Rob M. Please buy the book itself – from Alcoholics Anonymous or on Kindle. There have been supply issues with the paperback, but it looks like AA are taking orders for when more are printed.

Do you need help with alcohol?

Is one drink never enough? Have you tried but failed to control your drinking? Do you find yourself thinking about drink throughout the day?

If so, you may be an alcoholic. Don’t worry – there is a solution that millions of people around the world have used.

My name is Rob. During 2020 I hit the lowest point of my life. I’d given up hoping that I would ever be able to stop drinking, and I was trapped in other compulsive addictions as well. I felt beaten and utterly alone. In desperation I went to a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous on Zoom. I had no real expectation that I’d fit in or that they really had anything that would help someone like me.

It’s now 4 years since I had a drink. I’ve never felt so much peace of mind. I don’t have any desire to have a drink, and I am living free of my other addictions. AA is an amazing, welcoming bunch of people who are connected all over the world. I can talk any time I like with people who totally understand the disease that nearly finished me off – and who never judge me. The 12 step recovery programme of AA has been life-changing for me, just as it has for millions of others. I’m proud now to be able to share some of the experience, strength and hope I have, including through making resources like the ones on this website.

You don’t have to suffer alone. You don’t have to drink today. You can live happy, joyous and free.
